This painting was chosen for the cover
of Inner Change Magazine, and here's the article I wrote for
it:
In this painting of hope for our times, I intend
to express our destiny to move ever closer to Divine. "Gaea"
explores our relationship with the beautiful planet we live
on, Mother Earth. The star of this painting is a brown mare,
who carries us forward in good relationship with nature, with
Mother Earth. She is followed by a frenzied group of other worldly
horses who are frightened and confused, running away from the
unknown issues that loom overhead. All too often, this portrays
us, unaware and so fleeing our consequences. We move in an assembly
of mutual reaction, not yet rightly centered on our planet.
We come from behind, drawn to the mare's heart-warming lead,
and the drum beat of her gate as she draws us forward with her
amazing maternal caring and guidance. Horses are herd animals,
and despite our independence, we share that affinity. Inevitably
we will trot along gracefully in harmony and balance upon the
blue-green globe, this beautiful planet, our home.
